How do I take an ivy cutting?

Hi,
I have ivy growing along one side of my fence. I would love for it to grow along the opposite fence too. Is it possible to take a cutting from the existing ivy and what do I do?

Cut some off, about 10 - 15 cm or so, strip off the bottom leaves and stick it in the soil where you want it to grow, water well and it should take.

The more cuttings you do the thicker it will be.

IME ivy is very easy to take cuttings of.

Growing ivy isn't difficult. Getting rid of the awful stuff is far more challenging...

If you take a stem and bring it down to ground level, then peg it onto the soil with tent pegs and keep it watered, it will grow roots along its length. You can then cut it into sections and have lots of small plants by next spring.
