Hi, I am thinking of reorganising my garden if I stay in this house, and I will do the work in Autumn time.
I have borders that are in line with the grass level.
I would like to put in raised borders instead, so that I can sit on sleepers and do the hoeing/weeding in the beds.
My current borders are established and I put then in a number of years ago, they are obviously are going to be more than moulched (?sp) in this process.
What do I need to do, can I do anything to the existing plants?
I was thinking of having sleepers at the back of the border as well as at the front, obviously more work and cost, which would leave a gap at the back for the plants I have against the fencing, so the roses etc would not need to be moved upset by the changes, as I am sure that they will struggle as will the fence I am responsible for, if I add two sleepers debth of soil?
What plants can cope with soil being put on top and what can't?
many thanks
