Ladybirds and lawn mowing

Our lawn is almost at jungle levels and has some weeds and random plants growing at certain points. About to do the 3-monthly mow of the lawn but there are LOADS of ladybirds in the garden, on grass stems and leaves - they obviously love it. DS adores ladybirds and likes to see them, too. I would like to cut the lawn but without killing/harming our ladybird residents. Any suggestions? Will they escape or should I leave some bits untrimmed?

They'll fly off quickly enough as the lawnmower rumbles the ground. Some will bite the dust but, c'est la vie

I'm leaving our lawn as it's covered in clover and there have been loads of bees on it. I am also not weeding a section covered in buttercups and poppies because I'm a lazy cow of all the bugs it's attracting

But if dh gets his own way, he'll be out on the next dry day he's at home.

So, can you leave it for a bit? Yes, I am a total hippy when it comes to wildlife. Ladybirds are in decline you know.
But Cogito is right too - c'est la vie..
