Chinese Bean Sprouts!

I read this www.ehow.com/how_2320711_grow-large-mung-bean-sprouts.html and would love to try growing them myself but I have no idea where to get seeds from (the prices the author quotes are $1.49/lb and I'm finding seed packets that are £1.50 for 40g, which seems a lot)...If I go to Tesco and buy a pack of dried mung beans will these grow?!

It all looks very complicated. I bought some dried mung beans from the Chinese supermarket, put some in an opaque container, soaked them overnight, and then just rinse them daily and kept them moist. Beansprouts after a few days. Not as big and long as the ones in the shops, but beansprouts nonetheless. My mum uses a teapot for sprouting. I use the container for one of those baby formula thing.

I've grown the ones from tesco okay. I've done them in a jar with a (clean) J cloth as a top so I can rinse and swish out the water each day.

Got my mung beans, am soaking them now, very excited for some homegrown bean sprouts!! Will try the easy option I think, since I don't have any of the "specialist equipment" I'd need otherwise!
