V. disorganised this year. Am I too late to order, chit and plant potatoes? Any good suppliers other than Marshalls? Was looking for pre-chitted on their website but they seem to be sold out. Any advice pls? Ta!!

Not at all - you don't need to chit, not essential at all, and absolutely fine to plant in April (even late April).

I'd definitely recommend Skea Organics. Their website isn't particularly userfriendly (you need to register to see the shop) as they mostly sell to farmers, but they are good value and helpful IME.

Certainly buying larger quantities (25kg sacks) their prices for certified organic are the same as I could get elsewhere for conventional seed, don't know if that's also the case for smaller amounts.

Actually saying that you might want to ring them before ordering as I don't know what their delivery times would be at this time of year, I have always ordered earlier in the season.

Thanks Takver .... I had no idea that one could plant without chatting .... you learn something new every day! I'll have a look at that website, thanks, but think the quantities will be too big for me - only filling one bed so wouldn't use 25kg!

Ah, sorry, not clear. They sell by the kilo as well, but the prices are different for bags as compared to sacks!
