Positive outcome following poor A level results

Hi all, just wanted to reach out to any parents who’s DC may not have had the results they wanted, this was us, last year, I posted about this at the time but the thread has disappeared.
My DD studied two A levels and one BTEC, from quite early on she struggled with the A levels, in part, but not solely, due to the subject matter. There was no pressure from us, we would have supported her if she wanted to drop out but she was determined to see things through, she failed both A levels but excelled with her BTEC. She had worked part time since leaving school so continued to do so whilst trying to find an apprenticeship, 12 months on, she succeeded. She passed all of the tests set for her and three interviews, to be offered an apprenticeship at a high end, blue chip company, she absolutely loves it.
This is her, to a tee, she has fitted right in, loves her team, they are wonderfully supportive, she is learning the business very quickly and is enjoying her college day release.
I just wanted to say there are options, depending on the career direction and this has worked well for her.

I’m glad it has worked out so well for your DD!

@FavouritePJs thank you for sharing! I hope things continue to look up for your daughter. What a remarkable young lady she is.

Thank you for this. My DD is starting A levels this September and I’m not sure it’s the right path for her. But she wants to give it a try and so we will see! But she’s had a job this summer in an accountancy firm which she’s enjoyed so I’m hoping that if a levels don’t work something like this will be better for her!
