Hi
Anyone used 'the study buddy' to help teens organise their revision? As keeps popping up on fb.

Iv one at gcse and one at a level and both having to have me organise them, adhd diagnosed. Wondered if this would simplify things.

Hi, I bought one for my daughter who is doing her GCSE's this year. We thought it would be great for her but in reality she has had more success just doing past papers. We also got suckered in to buying Smart Revise guides, these have been more helpful than the Study Buddy. I think the Study Buddy can feel overwhelming, although probably really works for some people.

It was brilliant for my daughter.

when OP said that they had better luck by just doing past papers, you can do that with Study Buddy.

Study Buddy breaks the gcse down into its component parts. The child chooses which parts they’ll study, when and how. Study buddy makes sure it’s all covered in an organised way. It means you the parent doesn’t have to nag, or do the revision. You just have a conversation once a week for 10 mins to half an hour.

it solves the problem of a study plan. For me it was worth its weight in gold but I was quite happy to throw money at the problem.

Anyone else used it? I love the idea of something organising topics for my DS who insists school haven’t given him these lists 🤦‍♀️

I've been looking at it, as I'm keen to find something relatively straightforward to support DS in Y11. I've looked at a few things, but they all seem a bit complex or high time investment when your kid has ADHD and isn't very self-motivated. I suppose whatever it is, we'll inevitably have to invest some time to get started, but I do worry he'll need a lot of reminding unless it's very intuitive.
