University after A levels over 3 years

My DD is very academic and ambitious for a place at a top uni. She is in yr13 and gets good grades but has missed a lot of school due to mental illness. She’s being advised to take A levels over 3 years and we think this is better for her recovery. Does anyone know if this will disadvantage her in applying to top universities.

No, many in my DS’s sixth form do 3 years for a variety of reasons.

Some very competitive unis/courses do say they want A levels taken in one sitting after two years of study - but that’s to stop students gaming the system and wouldn’t apply to your daughter. When she has her choices, do get in touch with them to discuss support, and they may even offer additional consideration given her circumstances, or lower offer.
