A level resits

I am going to resit Yr13 as I did worse than expected. In December of yr13, my aunt was diagnosed with bowel cancer and had to undergo a major operation. A month later, my grandmother passed away, which greatly affected my studies and concentration in the following months and was partly why I didn't do so well. If my teacher mentions this in my reference will universities still consider me even tho im a resit applicant?

For context, some universities I am hoping to apply to are Warwick, UCL and Bristol for Economics

You've posted about this before I think - I would say you need to ask the unis if they accept resits. You should know tho that econ, esp at places like UCL and Warwick, is having a massive moment and they can take their pick of candidates. I would imagine you would need A-star A star A A with maths and FM to secure a place for econ at UCL, for example. And that's if resits are accepted. Are those the kinds of grads you would be looking at? If so, call the unis and ask - they want to help.

It's no use hoping for different advice by posting again.

I posted on your last thread saying unfortunately your grandmother dying in January won't count in any way towards 'extenuating circumstances'. Adding info about your auntie won't help. Your teacher mentioning it in a UCAS reference won't add any weight whatsoever as to whether unis accept you as a resit candidate. To be frank, they will not consider it a viable excuse for having done badly this summer.

What the others have said. Family difficulties MONTHS before exams are not extentuating circumstances on their own.

You have a good set of results at BBC. You can apply to good universities. You need to do that.
