Funding while studying a masters

im currently in my third year of LLB.
hoping to complete the bar practice course with masters beginning in September.
my only issue is funding
eligible for student finance loan of £12,167, although my course is £15,500. I have savings for this and the university also offers a £1000 scholarship for students awarded a first. This is all good.
however
when studying at masters level there is no maintenance loan which helps you live while you study.
i have 2 children aged 5 and 6 which with the intensity of the course means working for the next year is out of the question.
i live in a rented property.
are you able to claim benefits while you study postgrad?
there is not much information regarding single parents studying post grad.
I think the information leads to that universal credit would take into account the postgrad loan of £12,167 as income.
however this needs to be paid directly to university for course fees of course and after it is deducted there would not be enough to cover cost of rent, food, bills etc?
is this feasible, how has everyone managed this?
im from a low income background in the first place so not sure if i would be eligible for any extra funding anywhere else.
if anyone has read this far, thank you and i would be grateful for any advice :)

@Whitestriped You should apply for a scholarship from the Inn of Court you belong to. I assume you know about them? Most people I know did Bar course (DDs was paid for by a scholarship)and then a masters before starting pupilage. DD didn’t do a masters and didn’t need to. Others work for a year before starting bar course. Have you looked at all funding possibilities and all course options? What Inn do you belong to?
