Rejected from all five choices

So I’ve no experience of further education and totally unsure how it works. My DD is at college and has applied through UCAS to university. She didn’t know her predicted grades before she applied so applied to 5 universities. She found out today that she has only been awarded a pass grade ( as a predicated grade) so this means she hasn’t been accepted to any of her chosen unis. They aren’t big posh ones I don’t think they are just normal ex poly type ones.
she has said no one gets rejected from all 5 choices.
Obviously her actual grade would possibly be different.
Do people get rejected from all five? If she does only get 75 ucas points can she still go to uni?
she said her chosen uni take people on a first come first served type offer so even if she passes now with a higher grade she won’t get in? Is this true?
if anyone could help a confused parent that would be amazing!!

How on earth do these young people know which universities to apply to if they don't know their predicted grades? I would love to report these colleges to ofsted.

I have a letter of complaint all ready to go to the principal. Holding off for now because her tutor also teaches her one of her A level subjects and is easily annoyed, so she is very anxious not to upset him. She wouldn't let me get involved at all.

I was allowed to have a fight with them over not doing an EPQ - they were insisting it was not optional and she had to do one in Y13 along with four A levels. When I pointed out that she was really busy with Oxbridge entry stuff last term, they said not to worry, she could start her EPQ in January. The January of Y13 🤦‍♀️

I had to go through 4 layers of management but got there in the end. She was very stressed about it all though. It is an FE college which has been great for her in a lot of ways but their UCAS support has been appalling.

I've just remembered, the other reason I wasn't to rock the boat was that DD's tutor was one of the better ones and she didn't want to risk getting moved to a different group. Some of her friends had to chase up their tutors - catch them in person - to write school references and submit the form the day before the Oxbridge deadline, because they were ignoring emails. Absolutely shocking. When DS applied it was the school nagging the kids!

I work in FE. Firstly someone who has so much work experience, is so keen to do well really does not add up to a 'pass' at BTEC. It also doesn't add up to a student who is totally unaware of her predicted grade. One of the good things about BTEC is that the students build evidence and generally know at what level they are working. However the advice about Foundation Degrees is good.
