Upper sixth - the journey!

I posted on Secondary but someone suggested Further Ed - to me further Ed is the same as higher education but I can see from posts here I'm wrong (I did not go to school in this country and my older child did not do A levels nor go to uni).
So just a thread about our Upper Sixth kids and how they are navigating the next few months.
My daughter is at a private all girls school, joined last year. History, Art, Psychology (predicted B, A and A star respectively) and an EPQ, which she is doing this year as her project (a school magazine) was only published in July.
She wants to do animation so is applying to do a Art Foundation year locally so we have mainly concentrated on that rather than university for degree, though she's thinking Falmouth, Arts University Bournemouth and University of Hertfordshire.
As I said I didn't go to school here so the process is very different. I am confused about applications and when you find out if you've been accepted- I now foundation year is not through UCAS but is there rolling admittance (for both processes). Some kids seem to be given offers (or not) quite quickly and others seem to wait months. Does that mean one should apply as early as possible before places dwindle?
My daughter is also already stressing about the exams! She doesn't need particularly good grades for art but wants to do her best (and keep her options open).
I'd love to hear where your kids are in the process, how they've come to their decisions, and how involved you as parents have been with it all.

Hi!
i know you’ve been sent to Further Ed (16+ education) but if you’re asking about post 6th form education you may be best asking in Higher Ed. Title it ‘Art Foundation queries’ or something similar. There'll be lots of people in the know re animation degrees and art foundation courses.
The school should be giving you information too. Albeit some schools are better than others. Animation may be out of their usual remit but still Contact them and ask for advice as they’ll know your daughter and be able to guide you.

I'm not after any specific information, thank you. I know all I need about the animation courses on offer.
I'm just looking for fellow parents who are dealing with their kids (and their own) stress and pressure leading up to A levels and uni applications. My questions were general, and surely anyone in upper sixth is doing the same thing so maybe they know? But thanks for replying.
