Clearing is not the end of the world. Dd went through clearing, had a fantastic uni experience and gained a first. Then went on to do her Masters at the same uni. Now has a great job that she loves.
There's always alternatives although I appreciate it feels like the end of the world for them.💚

DS is on to his course he dropped a grade, but very happy for him. Good luck all.

Ds’s results are in: they are fab and more than good enough to get into his first choice 🎉🎉

We’re at school. There are 2022 balloons. I am in the car.

Ds got his insurance. (Sheffield). He seems disappointed but not distraught. Will go into school for results at 9

No UCAS yet but results are in and are the best we could possibly have hoped for.

Got congratulations email from uni on way to school at 8am - we all whooped - waiting to go into school

Ds1 got first choice Nottingham so we are relieved.
(Ds hacked into UCAS at 8.13am - don't ask) and sent me and Dh a WhatsApp from his bedroom. Dh and I were downstairs at the dinning room table working on laptops.

Went up to his bedroom. He was sat naked in his chair. I gave him a kiss on the back of his shoulder. Please put some boxers on I said.

DD1 had the best time at Sheffield, decor. He will love it I’m sure. Well done him!

Nottingham accepted :-) so relieved as is DD. Good luck to everyone else, going to get dressed and off to get results.

DSs phone also in the car as it didn’t charge over night. There are photos of many of them being taken although I guess DS is getting his results somewhere as other people got up earlier!

To those who don’t get the results they wanted let me tell you our experiences,
DD all A*s, first choice Uni, Masters Degree 1st, changed career choice entirely , now working at an accounting firm doing her ACCA exams.
DS followed, crashed his A levels. World ending. Got into a decent uni through clearing. 2.2 degree. Further disappointment. Got a temp job doing his career choice. Did really well, landed himself a grad scheme job and is currently out earning his sister.
Good luck to all your DC but it’s not the end of the world if they don’t get first choice Uni, there are always options. 🍀

Not good news here - we still don't know his results but Cardiff rejected so must be less than ABB (and probs lower than BBB).

He's only just got out of bed so letting him wake up before working out plans - think calling Cardiff clearing to see if any other course suitable but have to wait until we see his results and the college portal has crashed!

Can’t get onto UCAS but she’s had a message from Birmingham to say she’s in!

DS has his place confirmed (UCAS update) no results from the school yet (even though they said results would be emailed at 8am - he has had a class email from his Biology teacher saying congratulations to them all & results were amazing)

Email from Birmingham to confirm DD’s in just before UCAS updated. So relieved!

Bad news. BBC. Needed ABB. Rejection from firm, got insurance but doesn’t want it. In phone to York clearing. Awful.

York have no clearing for U.K. students. Bugger.

Sending hugs to those who have not had the results they hoped for, this thread will support everyone no matter what

He smashed it! he really did,- 2A stars and 2As and he didn't finish at least 3 of his papers.

To those who haven't got the grades they wanted it's not over till it's over, just a change of direction. Get quick onto Clearing cos I've been monitoring it and the number of course vacancies seem to be reducing by the minute.

DS can't get onto UCAS yet.
