DD having trouble deciding between the 2 for business. Has anyone got any experience of either?

Try posting in Higher Education instead to get more replies. Further Education is local colleges mainly.

I’ve no experience of either but have visited both with Ds for a different subject. Really liked Southampton for his course but Nottingham is very popular with kids where we live. Which is no help to you!

Does your Dd have a preference? What is the journey like to both?

Thank you for answering!

She's decided on Southampton. It seemed very organised and 'safe' when we visited. And we're in London so closer. I was convinced she was going for Nottingham!

Yes, my dd went to Southampton. Very impressed

That's good to hear. Hopefully she'll have a good experience.

I went to Southampton Solent Uni and loved it. So a bit different but I knew people who went to Southampton university and had good things to say about it.

I also went to Southampton (over 30 years ago) and had a great time there.
Good luck to your dd!

I had one DC at each, but neither for Business. Both were happy with their choice, DC2 might have gone to Southampton if DC1 hadn't been there first.
Southampton seemed more compact city and accommodation in the city seemed better quality there. DC2 stayed for post grad in Nottingham and there are some grotty student rentals. Dc2 had some issues at one point, as a housemate was self harming and had severe MH problems and the support for all in the house from lecturers and student services was excellent.
Having said that, the father of a friend of DC1 died during their first term at Southampton and he was well supported.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm glad to hear that the support is good - especially after the disruption with A levels (and life in general).
Well, the choice is made and just hoping that her grades are good enough!
