If the prospectus says the requiremtns for a course is 104-112 UCAS points, and you get an offer of 112, what does that mean?

That there are loads of applicants? That the are not too keen on you? That they don't think you will manage the course?

Why would they not offer a place with 104 if that is in the prospectus?

104-112 means that in a set period of time the lowest admittance score has fallen between those numbers and they can't acutely predict where this years will fall. In all likelihood, it could end up even higher or lower than that, but between those numbers are most likely.

No, sorry, I read this wrong.

104 is the equity score, so for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

112 is the general admission score.

How do they know your background?

Depending on the course they may also give lower offers to people with impressive portfolios...not sure if that’s relevant here.

@Ohno1

How do they know your background?
School achievement usually. If you come from a historically underperforming school, or a rural school, you will usually recieve a lower entry score. Also, cared for students.

Thanks, that all makes sense.
