Is that a good mix ? Ds doesn’t know what he wants to do in life but graphics and business are definates, he’s weighing up either media or psychology ? Any thoughts ?

Would looking at options post 18 help him make his mind up?
There are sites, I think whatuni is one where you put your A level subjects into them and it then suggests degree courses.
dd took Graphics A level and loved it. Wasn't interested in Business so can't comment on that.
Considered psychology but they wanted a better grade at GCSE Maths. It is generally considered as a Science.
Does the sixth form offer taster lessons before starting the course?

I always thought media studies was not considered a good A level for university but that may have changed. Psychology is very popular at the moment - maybe too much so.
As for the recommended website: my daughter is looking at art, history and biology or psychology for A level, and it keeps coming up with 'nurse' - she will do something in the creative arts.

DS1 does business as one of his three. It's definitely an 'easier' A level and not particularly well regarded. It's massively popular though. Economics is stronger I believe.

If that website doesn't give great results, try looking at Business degrees or Graphic design (or similar) degrees to make sure that a third subject wouldn't rule out either of those options.
For Creative degrees many students do a Foundation course before applying to university.

Media Studies is fine for university. Psychology is more a science. They’re quite different but if he’s interested in design I can see how both subjects complement it well. Can he look at how well students at his school did in those subjects? That might make a difference to which one he chooses.

Thanks everyone - he not particularly sciencey and did the taster over look down - wasn’t that bothered. He did gcse economics Got a 5, and fancies the broader syllabus I think.
