DS achieved his conditions for his 1st choice Uni! Woohoo!
Now the reality check.... He's had to wait until now to apply for halls, which we have always assumed he would do, regardless of which uni he attended. Just so happens his first choice is in our home city, and he can get there within 10-15 minutes.
Given the current covid circumstances, would you still sign up for halls? The cost is between £145-£175 per week x 40 weeks, so not an insignificant sum.
However, my main concern is that most lectures will be online, so no need to be on campus so much. Also, the social side will be severely restricted this year. I'm also concerned that it will be a bit of a "ghost town" campus, so may be a bit depressing.
I'm wondering if there is much point in spending all this cash for a less than ideal situation. What would you do?
