Just wondering if it is possible care for my baby and bloke and to study for a masters, part time and work three days a week?

Keen to hear both sides from those that have tried and passed/started then stopped.

For additional info, bloke works full time, half day on Friday. We have mums/nans both side that will be caring for baby when I go back to work. Masters course is run on a Saturday, one module every six months. I will be going back to work T/W/T.

I am a single mum. Dad does not help and pays no maintence. Kids see their dad every two weeks and I have to take them (I.e time with their dad is not free time for me!). I work part time and am doing a masters part time, which is 6 hours one day a week.

It is doable and I am totally motivated and enjoy the study/challenge/ intellectual stimulation.

I am struggling at the moment because my ex is making my life a pure living hell, but otherwise it would be completely doable.

Go for it xx

Apart from going to uni, how many hours a week do you spend on assignments?

user765 · 23/01/2020 15:03

It depends. We have two assignments per semester so in the weeks leading up to to them it is hard because it’s not as my kids can go their dads for the weekend! I should spend at least one evening a week prepping for lectures then I try and sit down every evening to work on assignments. But that means usually I just fall asleep. If I had a supportive partner it would be so easy! My parents help me a lot though. X
