A levels as an adult, not online

Is there an option to complete A levels or Btecs as a mature student but not online?

I started studying with the Open University and was doing extremely well up until everything was completely online (rather than the workbooks etc) and my autism made it impossible Sad I just couldn’t retain the information that way.

But I was doing an access course into a degree. I still want to complete a degree but have decided to go to an actual uni.

My highest grades are GCSE’s though so I will need something further... is there anything I can do that’s not online Blush

Sorry I don't have an answer but I'd be interested in finding out so here's a hopeful bump..

Your local FE college should offer a level 3 Access to University course. It's the A level equivalent for adults, but you generally do the course in one year, full time. It's focused on what you want to study at uni, e.g access to teaching, access to nursing, access to business.

I'm not sure if they still publish it but I found an AS Level course on Hot Courses (think that was the name).

I think access course is your route as an adult rather than A levels. I doubt there is any funding for adults on an A level route. Universities would be looking for A levels if an adult it would be access. Why don't you finish your access course?

Our local college do evening A level classes.
I think they do Maths, English, and maybe History.

Have a look at local college websites.

Unfortunately i live in the middle of nowhere so our 1 local college doesn't do them but i'll keep looking thank you! I'm willing to move as i will move to go to uni (in the north)

I didn't finish the access course as it was only into an online learning degree with the OU and after trying it out, i can't think of anything more difficult for me. I need to learn with books and worksheets or the information just goes straight over my head Confused

I did really well in school (A's and B's) but my disability, bad luck and choice to have kids has set me back. I'm now 30 and looking to really improve our lives
