There are still a number of nursing courses in clearing so there is every possibility that she might gain access to one.
However you do need a full level 3 qualification and you’ve mentioned she left college early, so I’m not clear whether she actually finished? If not she’ll need to complete some further study first - likely an access course.
If she did complete level 3 study, Her first steps would be to look at the clearing entry page of each uni offering the course that she’d be willing to go to, and see if she meets the standards. She needs to register on UCAS and then start to call each to see if they’d make her a clearing offer. She should be aware that just because they’re in clearing doesn’t mean they’ll accept anyone and they will still want her to be able to demonstrate knowledge about the NHS, the role etc. She may need to have a telephone interview or a face to face interview.
If she’s thinking about starting this month she needs to do a student finance application immediately and recognise there will likely be a delay in her getting funding - would she have savings to cover the shortfall?
Generally her GCSEs seem fine for nursing.
All that said, although clearing is technically open until October, it is very late to go through it at this point especially for something like nursing. She probably won’t get a chance to visit the unis before taking a clearing offer and will have last pick of accommodation. Also will she need to give notice on her current job? Most courses start within a fortnight.
I would strongly advise her to forget about clearing and apply for entry 2020 - this will give her a chance to gain some extra caring experience, visit universities and make sure she picks the best institution and course for her.
