Is it worth applying somewhere that says they want an A in it?

Entry requirements are AAB and dd predicted ABB.

Be careful about clearing. Many universities cannot guarantee student accommodation if you go through clearing. If she’s wobbly about being far from home, having to find accommodation would presumably be a big concern too. Put down all 5 at the same time. Avoid clearing if you can. It’s better to apply next year with her results than deliberately go through the lottery of clearing.

We aren't deliberately going through clearing. It's a back up plan, as it is for most I expect.

Dd is predicted AAB and her top choice asks for AAA. I think it's worth it as long as there's a safe backup.

Well we are doing two long shots. Both courses went into clearing last year so fingers crossed. Three others are perfectly doable but two of them are a long way from home which she doesn't really want to do. It's annoying that the two of the best unis for her course are very near but she may not get into either.

@Plessis just came across this thread again and wondered if she has any offers through?
