Question about applying for post 16 college courses and predicted grades please

The college dc is looking at offers three levels of the same course depending on grades.
Dc has sen and tbh her predicted grades are unstable. She does really well but massively failed her year ten end mocks.

Is she better applying at the course which accepts a lesser level of entry grades or going for the one which matches her predicted grades and is there likely to be much movement if she does better or worse than expected?

When we were looking at colleges last year, they said to go it's the predictions, and they would offer the lower course if it was needed. I'd check with the college.

In my college there is a 6 week review for all students to check if they are on the right course. Every year some students move up and down so why not apply for the higher level, see what the results turn out to be and when it is time to enrol, if the results are not what she had hoped for they might enrol her on the lower level. It is not at all unusual to apply for one course and end up starting on another within the same dept.

Book an appt with ALS when she applies so that the support can be ready for when she starts and if need be an induction programme over the summer arranged.

Apply for the course which reflects the predictions - anything at level 3 will require Maths and English at 4. If the grades are missed in the yr 11 exams the college will then offer a place on the same course at level 2.
