Childcare course

Hopefully this is in the right place. My Dd is getting her GCSE results tomorrow but is still undecided on her next step. It's either A levels ( History, English Language and something else ) at her school's sixth form or a Childcare course at the local college.
She is worried that If she does the Childcare it will basically limit her to working in a nursery. Has anyone ( or anyone's dc ) done Childcare but gone on to do something different?

I'm inclined to think she is right.
I come across many Nursery staff who are trying to get qualifications later on - much more difficult when you are older, and working 40 hours a week as well.
Appallingly, childcare in the UK is not valued as it should be, so pay is limited.
If she did the A-levels, she has more options, IMO. Don't get me wrong, I'm a strong believer in doing what you love, but she can still do childcare afterwards, but has the option to teach, or do something entirely different if she wants to, with A-levels.

Thanks BackforGood You're probably right there. The positive thing about the childcare course is I thought it might give her direction whereas the A levels leave her unsure of her next step ( I don't think Uni is on the cards ) However, if that direction is so limited then perhaps not.

2 years ago dd had a similar decision to make and opted for A levels.
She has now completely changed her mind about childcare and is following another career option. She has just finished Y13 and isn't going to university.
To be honest she imho she would have been overqualified for childcare with 9 GCSEs when she only needed 5 and the main focus was 0-5 year olds. I think some people with this qualification end up working in schools (particularly reception) but think A levels keep more options open if she does well enough.
