Hi , my son chose maths /computer science and physics A level but now wishes he had done further maths as a lot of Uni courses that he's looking at ask for it. Is he able to do an extra year at Sixth form and complete in a year, as no college teaches further maths?

The requirement for further maths is usually if the sixth form offers this qualification.
If he is Y12 now then he will be taking the new linear Maths A level whereas students in Y13 are taking a modular qualification.
I would think that unis will adapt their entry requirements to allow for this change for next year's applicants.

There is an online programme for Further Maths (really sorry, the name of it has completely gone from my mind!), could he do that, perhaps? It's February now, so if he out in some work over Easter and Summer he could catch up on content?

Try contacting the further maths network - they do a lot to support students. Quite a lot of colleges do one year courses in FM (they cover A level in the first year then further maths in the second year of A levels).

I'm not sure it's possible with a different provider - aren't some of the papers common to both and the board automatically works out which paper to use for which qualification?

However if the college DOESNT offer FM the vast majority of universities will allow for that if it's highlighted on the reference and the predictions are very high.
