We've been fostering almost 21 years now, how about anyone else?

On our third foster child! Got him straight from hospital at 2 weeks old, drug dependent but fne now. Have 4 gals myself, youngest 9, so bit of a shock to the system going back to babies!Gals love it of course. Fostering is fab....hard work but incredible, visible rewards.

weve been fostering almost 17 years and have 5 nearly 6 children of our own!!!

we as a family LOVE it

We have just started Fostering, amd i must say we feel a little 'tested' at times. We do not have any children, so going from nothing to a foster child is a big change.
Any advise is AWLAYS welcome.(grin)

One of our placements will be starting introductions in a couple of weeks and I'm dreading them I always do

He's such a little character that I can't imagine the house without him.

We're just moving from being foster carers to adoptive parents - we'd been respite foster carers for 2 years before this family was placed (hopefully) permanently with us.

Piglet - I can empathise; we had no children previously and our first placement was a huge challenge - two wee boys and I just got left with them, two car seats, two high chairs and a double buggy, as my social worker went off on holiday for two weeks!

Just had a call from LO's adoption worker/family finder, apparently panel has been postponed for two weeks because his sw hasn't completed the paperwork needed.

As much as I'm dreading him leaving this is the second time panel has been moved.

Grrrr how difficult can it be to fill in the forms ffgs

Hi, we are going before the panel for approval this Thursday - feel pretty nervous! Is it gruelling?
We have two girls of our own, 2 and 5, and have said we would prefer girls aged 7 to 12, though we will consider boys too.
What is the 1st placement like?
We are doing short term, if we get approved next week I think we will get respite kids over the holidays.
