I have a million and one questions but the most pressing one is will a social worker allow a 14 year girl and 7 year old boy to share one bedroom? Currently sharing one bed but looking at adding a campbed or something. Is this a firm no? I know it isn't ideal but the alternative is one goes into the system (no other family)

I think the answer is no.
Are they sibblings, if so might allow very temporarily. Could one have a bed in living room, even if camp bed?

No. A fostered child must have their own bedroom, generally speaking, although occasionally same sex siblings can share when young

Or could one. Child have your room and you get a sofa bed?

Yes, no other choice currently, other than putting one on the sofa maybe

Speak to the advice line either at Kinship or FRG - Family Rights Group

Do not be deterred by fears concerning the room at the moment. You may need to speak to a solicitor who specialises in this area of work. Kinship will assist you with names.

Can you turn a downstairs room into a bedroom?

We have only a living room downstairs and an open plan kitchen

If the children are in Care Proceedings or are likely to be, you need specialist legal advice. If it's you - or adoption or even long term foster care, the issue of space is just one of the factors - not THE factor

See if the 17 and 20 yr old females would share a room?
main thing is being flexible and discussing different solutions. As pp said u need advice on lots of issues if considering this. Good luck to you it’s a great thing you are trying to do!
