Would this need to be a private fostering arrangement

Just after some advice.

My youngest dd has some behavioural issues and as a result will be staying with her dad (he’s not her actual dad and he has no PR for her) we are now divorced but have a good relationship. She sees him as dad and he’s always been her ‘dad’, just not in the legal sense.

She will be staying with him during the week and coming home to me eow and half of the holidays. I don’t want to go into the ‘whys’ as it also involves her sister, and our need to separate them for restbite purposes.

I’m going to ring the LA to check, but does anyone know if he’ll have to be assessed as a private foster Carer?

It her dad I can't see why ?

No it's informal and you retain The PR

@iwillkeepthishouseclean he’s her dad, as in, we were married and he brought her up but he’s not biologically related to her and has no pr for her.

But he was her step dad for many years? Hmmm i think its a private fostering arrangement as he is not blood related.

That’s what I thought mrsed1987 as he’s not actually blood related, although her step dad.

It’s not happening for a few weeks so I’ll give the LA a call and find out what I/we need to do

Usually they would start an assessment after 28 days, but would be good to give them a call and some warning haha
