Two Aggressive Antisocial Dogs in Daily Contact with a Foster Child

I'll try to keep things short. Two foster parents moved in next door roughly one year ago, along with a 10-year-old foster boy, and two unbelievably aggressive antisocial dogs.

The one dog in particular, barks constantly throughout the day and night in the back garden, and I've witnessed on several occasions both dogs going absolutely crazy towards other dogs and even cats in the neighbourhood.

There's very little if any discipline from the owners, and the dogs are pretty much free to do what they want in the back garden, including pooping and peeing everywhere.

Not only have the dogs drove me and my partner crazy over the past year with obsessive loud barking, but we have concerns that these dogs are not safe to be around anybody, let alone children.

We've also learnt through another neighbour that the dogs were once previously used for the barbaric sport of badger baiting by previous owners.

I have no idea what breed of dogs they are, but they are not a common breed you see in family homes.

Does anybody know what the laws are regarding antisocial and potentially dangerous dogs in contact with foster children in the UK?

Thanks.

If you think they are a banned breed you can call 101 to report. The police will check out your suspicions.

The owners clearly think the dogs are trustworthy and the child is still here so it’s unfair to assume that they will attack him

However I completely understand your anxiety

The police won’t tell your neighbours it was you.

We have all of our pets assessed by our social worker.
We need to show evidence that they have had injections and they are kept upto date.
If the dogs were dangerous breeds the vet would know this.
Also the social worker would be failing in her duty of care.
