Has anyone else had a newly placed child that has come over since the closure of the Calais camp?
How are you coping with the language barrier? Any other difficulties or positives to share?
We have a girl that is very quiet and a little solitary....I don't want to push her or make her uncomfortable but also worried she will be feeling very lonely and isolated.
How are you all getting on?

I'm sure in time the little girl will be fine, lots of adjustments to be getting used to. I don't foster so can't relate or offer advice sadly. But I would like to thank you, you are doing an amazing thing and the world would be a better place if it was filled with more people like you

I'd be interested to know how it goes, I'm intending to foster UASC if I can (at end of approval process now, panel in November).

I imagine she is very overwhelmed, bless her, it might just take time and being there and open to her feelings as they come out. Trauma and grief can result in withdrawing from the world - she might need to work through that stage in her own time.
