Giving notice

Having fostered for ten years many, many young people, mostly teens; Ive decided that I just can't to do it anymore. The reasons are numerous and not something I want to get into here. However, the decision isn't on a whim and is also associated with some family issues I need to deal with right now. I foster for a LA and need to give 28 days notice to resign. However a young person is here on a 'permanency' basis with the view that 3 months notice needs to be given, should I need to end his placement. Im aware that no one can force me to continue to offer fostering should I not want to but does anyone know if this 3 month notice for the young person is enforceable please? The young person will not be easily placed elsewhere but, as our local authority appear to have recruited many new carers who are sitting with empty beds, I am sure one of them would be a willing match ( I think it's doubtful that more experienced carers would take him as they would have more understanding of his complex difficulties) Really hoping someone more knowledgeable than me about the resignation process will have the answer.

I don't know the answer, but came to give you a virtual hug.

I wouldn't think they would enforce that anyway even if they could. Its not in anyones best interests. Im pretty sure my LA wouldnt. Have you asked your link worker?
