My teenage fd left for school this morning as usual. I was expecting her home at 3.30. When there was no sign by 4.15pm I rang her SW who told me she had not arrived at school that morning and was now missing (the fact that I was clearly not deemed important enough to be informed of this is a whole other thread Angry.

Anyway, SW says if she doesn't turn up by 5.00 they will report her missing to police and let me know. At 6.30 there is a knock on my door. I lock dog (who is very protective and loud into my DDs downstairs bedroom where my DS is watching TV).

The policeman comes into my kitchen and we swop information. All the while the dog is going crazy in DDs disgusting hovel bedroom. Before he leaves policeman says would it be ok to search house as is routine. He heads towards DDs room and I panic and say (and this is the stupid bit) "oh would you mind not looking in there my DD is asleep". He looks at me like I'm a complete loon who probably has multiple children hidden in the room.

I realise my stupidity immediately but instead of saying "god I'm sorry I didn't want you looking in DD hovel" I say "oh silly me the dog will have woken her and breeze in saying to very confused DS oh you are awake then tee hee".

Policeman searches rest of house (which thank god isn't to bad and leaves sniggering probably to have me sectioned.

Any chance he wont tell everyone the local station. Blush

Does she run away often? We usually report runaways asap and would have checked that she wasn't home first!

If my DD was missing and a policeman was in my house I'd be such a nervous wreck that I would babble for hours,

try not to worry,

have they found your fd?

SquidgyBrain · 01/10/2010 20:49

Dolphin, I am sure compared to some people the police deal with you are normal personified.

Hoping FD has been found and is safe

nymph yes she's a persistant absconder from other placements. She's only been with me a week this is the first time she's gone. She has been found now. She rang police to say she wanted bringing back here but for some reason they then gave her the impression she could stay where she is (the place the police removed her from on a PPO Confused). SS refused to let her stay there so now SS and the police are arguing about who's responsibility it is to get her home. SS have said they will send a taxi but she is refusing to get in it because police said she could stay where she is. Police are saying they don't have available manpower to get her. She is about 20 miles away, I can't go because DH is at work and I have 4 other DC to look after.

What a mess.
