Can someone give me a virtual slap please!!

We are looking after a LO tomorrow while her foster carer goes to a meeting, this is also so we can meet and get to know her as we are having her for 24 hours respite a week on Saturday.

And I am so nervous!!!

I am a qualified paediatric nurse, I worked as a nanny for a while - the little one was only 12 weeks when I took sole charge, I have 3 kids of my own but I am still nervous about tomorrow!!

  • slap away!!

No slaps here, just a manly pat on the shoulder

Ahh.. good luck honey!!

You'll be wonderful...

We had the most fab today with our 2 little ones.. really feels great.

Nerves are good I think.. shows you care & keeps you on your toes!!

Let us know how it goes - although we already know it'll go brill.

:) :)

Thanks for the pat on the shoulder NSF!

p99 - thanks - looking forwards to a couple hours of tiny baby hugs tomorrow :) I think because we have known she is coming for a weeks or so it has given me way too much time to start panicking!

Glad that you are enjoying your 2 little ones, I am sure the difference you are making to their little lives is huge :)

DH has taken tomorrow so he gets to meet the LO and means I don't have to juggle her and DS2

oooh so excited too :)

had a lovely few hours with the LO - she ended up being here about 3 hours, so had a chance to get to know her a little and reassure my self that I will be able to look after her and feed her when she is here for respite next weekend. (She has feeding issues)

so all good :)

Brilliant. Told you so!! :o

Well done you - officially on the map now.

Have a nice glass of wine and give yourselves a pat on the back. Wink

Had a nice play at the park today - then grandkids came around and played with one of them in the garden chasing chickens - never heard her giggle so much. ahh bless Smile

thanks p99 :)

There are another 2 0-2 places empty in our LA at the minute so it could be a while I have to stay sat on the couch, but I guess this is good since it means that there arn't LO needing accommodated

Sounds like a lovely time was had playing in the garden :) well done :)

I think you need a glass of wine too ;)

Well survived having the LO for 30 hours :) and her foster Mum had a lovely well deserved pampering day and night out :)

The little one is just a total sweetheart - she is such an easy baby now - her foster Mum has done wonders with her :)

Had a good chat with her foster Mum about the LA and how to handle them - as apparently the do take the mickey sometimes.

and once the 3 kids are in bed it is take away and a glass of wine for DH and I - Grin

Well done you!!

Bit of insider info always helpful I guess - we've got a couple of courses this week, so will meet some other carers - plan on doing plenty listening...

Enjoy your take away... must admit our diet has gone downhill since they arrived - must get around to being organised one day soon Grin

SquidgyBrain · 26/09/2010 21:35

thanks P99 :) got to reply to a couple of course invites too so will be nice to meet other carers too - although the LO's FM is the only other really local carer, so I am planning on becoming firm alleys with her!!

The take away was great - as was the rather large glass of wine :)

Don't get too organised - it is well over rated Wink
