Help - Can I chuck him out of MQ? What happens to me if I do?

DH is cheating.

Am service wife. No job. 2 DC. Living in SFA.

Can I chuck him out? What happens to me?

I cannot leave - I have nowhere to go. Council wont help me if I make myself homeless - hence why I am considering the above.

Can anyone help? or advise me please?

What is SFA?

First step would be to see your families officer and explain your situation. Your H should be able to take up accommodation on base. You will be served with a 90 day notice to quit, leading to court order to evict if you fail to go at end of this term. Your local council will put you to the top of the list as you are being made homeless. I was in this situation some years ago, and the rules may have changed but I would imagine that the initial steps as above would be the same. The families officer will advise you if not.

When you see the council, it is best to be as honest as you can with them.

Hope this helps x

SFA = Service Family Accomodation or Married Quarters!

Thanks Skymoo. Thought it was something like that!

Anyone else with any tips or advice - please do add! All help gratefully received right now as I am a little dumbfounded to say the least.

not sure about army quarters but yes skymoo is correct in the fact that if you are given notice to quit due to a family breakdown it is different to being intentionally homeless.

sorry y ou feel it may have come to this

You can make him leave, if you do not want him there he has to be housed in the mess/block. You should be able to get a 3 month cooling off period during which you live in the SFA and he stays in the mess, but at the end of that he either has to move back in or change his married status to separated. If he changes his status you then get 90 days notice to quit, also your rent will go up. However, they rarely actually evict people as long as you are doing something finding yourself alternative housing. Your UWO (or RAF/FN equivalent) should know all about this. They should also be able to give you advice on applying for council housing or whatever. You will definitely not be classed as making yourself homeless
