Would you move?

Bearing in mind the hassle of moving, changing addresses, march out etc etc would you move from a perfectly nice OR quarter (that is having long fought for new carpet and curtains fitted soon) to a bigger but older and shabbier Officers quarter??
Our current garden is on a slope and overlooked by six other gardens. The other house has a bigger flatter garden overlooked by two.
It will be a little bit cheaper.
The physical moving won't cost us more than pizza and beer as DH has a course of trainee PTI's at the ready (I am tempted for that reason alone ).
We have no idea how much longer we will be here, and have been here over two years already.
We will obviously have to clean here ourselves and pay for the oven to be sorted.
So would you?
Dh says yes. I am undecided as it is me who most of the moving hassles will fall too (ie address/insurance changes, sorting Sky, broadband cleaning etc etc)
The children are 5 and 3 and I am a SAHM so would love the extra space and garden....

id move if we got offered a bigger quarter so go for it.

especially the officers houses at cosford as they are lovely.

i have to agree with alibaabaa we used to laugh at the trainee and sometimes permant staff pti's with how prestin they had to look some of them took longer than the girls to get ready lol.

Oh yes, they have a reputation to uphold .

Well you have all convinced me. I am now quite up for the idea, which of course means we will have the application rejected . Oh well I can still look forward to my new carpets and curtains!! Woohoo!!

So the two quarters we wanted aren't available.......but......
The lady from DE was VERY helpful and said as we are already in a nice quarter there are only two that we might be interested in, and gave us the addresses to check them out . How fantastic is that???? I am well impressed. She was brilliant and confirmed that it would be cheaper as this house is grade 1. One of the houses is awful but the other is amazing. The gate is broken off so I went round the back and the garden almost made me cry. It has trees and flower beds and fences and is all romantically overgrown with hidey places for the children to play . It is so private too. We are overlooked by six gardens where we are at the moment. I can hardly believe it is empty or that we might get it. It is better than the two we asked for. It even looks ok inside. Odd isn't it? Has green carpets and no curtains at the mo...
So I will be on the phone first thing on Monday!! Fingers doubly tripley crossed . How spoilt are we????

sorry but that can not be true, i think you have called the wrong number and the person at the end of the line was having you on!!!!

VanillaPumpkin · 11/07/2008 22:15

I know I know!!!!!
There have been stacks of 'unentitled' moves (like ours) recently that must have made them so so busy and I thought we would get laughed at tbh. Them saying no was expected, but the option of ther quarters was brilliant. I will not hear a word against Telford DE now . Actually they have always been lovely with us there (creep creep )
