In the context of army cadet camp, what are 'trouser elastics'? Are they braces? Or maybe things like bicycle clips?

I'm not actually a forces sweetheart, but a newbie cadet force mum

Ds is off to cadet camp on Tuesday and his packing list says 'trouser elastics'. Any ideas, please? I've spent all day naming stuff! Can't wait for his officers to teach him tidiness, order, memory, to pick things up, bring stuff home, etc.

Tia...

Twists of elastic cord with a clip at each end - you wear them around the tops of your boots to keep your trousers tucked in neatly.

The Army issue them as part of your kit - not sure how cadets would get hold of them, though.

Like mini bungies!

LongMeg · 21/10/2007 22:20

They do sometimes call them trouser bungies.

Army and Navy stores might be able to help if you're struggling to get hold of some.

Oh, thanks - they ARE bicycle clip type thingies We've tried our local army shop; I don't think there's time to get them online. Will search for my nearest Army and Navy, though, thanks.

Aha, have googled and it looks like camping shops will have them - we're awash with Blacks stores, etc, so here's hoping. Thanks, Skribble, Longmeg and Drusilla
