Moving to High Wycombe

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can help. I have a job offer for a role in High Wycombe however my partner will need to be able to commute into London as this is where he works, ideally, we want to be near a tube rather than a train line as he works late sometimes and I will probably drive to work. I was looking at Rickmansworth or Eastcote as possible areas to commute in - does anyone have any experience with these areas/the commute? Not sure if the M4 or A404 would be a nightmare?!

Thanks so much!

For a generic question like this, Google or the chat board might be better. The military aspect isn't that key and this is quite a niche chat area, so I'm not sure anyone will be able to help.

Do you mean RAF High Wycombe? Or just High Wycombe? They're remarkably far apart.

Beaconsfield is 26 min into Marylebone on a fast train. The nearest tube is Amersham but that's a way from HW and takes ages to get to from London.

Amersham would be the closest with tube and 20 minutes drive to Wycombe. Rickmansworth is quite a way to high wycombe.

If you sre considering to move in wycombe area, nesr wycombe station would probably be ideal as fast train gets you to london in 30 minutes.

Hello! Depending on where in London you want to commute to, would recommend tube rather than driving. If let's say it's Park Royal, it's doable by road but anything further in would be a nightmare in normal times. Would recommend Ruislip, Pinner, Eastcote / Rickmansworth, Watford as nice places to live but nothing particularly special. I live in the area and you get decent bang for your buck housewise (for London prices) and schools are good, neighbourhood is quiet and lots of green spaces on your doorstep.
