and I haven't 'done' that long before. I am beginning to feel very nervous. I havn't been at our new posting for long. I have no family and am only 'friends' with a couple of ladies that are not part of military life and so do not understand so much...

I do not know why I am posting really...just that I do not want to mention it too much to DH as I do not want him to think I will not cope.

I have been a military wife for 10 years so not new to it but this is beginning to worry me as he has a pretty horrible job allocated to him. I just want it all to be over with.

Oh bless you. My dh is just coming back from 6 months. The time will fly.

Do you have children? Work?

Hiya! Yes I have two children, am in between jobs at the moment as will want to concentrate on children whilst he is away. What were your circumstances? You sound very positive Smile

One dd, aged 4 - work full time in London. No family near at all. You just get into a routine and keep busy. And think of having full control of the remote, less cooking, less ironing etc etc. And the Op Allowance too!

Get a new hobby, get fit, join a new club - anything really.

It does feel very quiet in the evenings sometime. Also stay away from looking at news websites - if something has happened you would be the first to know.

I'll echo hf. My husband is just finishing up his six months. We have three children (aged five, three and twenty months) and I'm at home. The trick is to look upon it as a break from the norm and perfect time to learn a new skill or catch up on your reading or those tv series you've been meaning to watch. You'll always be informed first of any bad news so don't fret too much about what you see in the media.

So, enjoy complete posession of the remote control and some me time.

Thanks jcscott - that is a good way to look at it. How did your children cope?
