DH has literally just left for Falklands 4 month tour about 1 hour ago. I have DD1 3years old today! and DD2 20wks today! Sad Feeling very low and panicky about how the hell I'm going to cope. Please tell me it'll be ok?!? I know I can do this, but with all the weeks stretched out in front of me it's such a daunting task.
I've had a little cry and now I just feel empty and a bit lost. Rattling around in the quarter, it suddenly feels very big here!
Sad

Hi, we did think of the MT driver to take him down the day before the flight but, because the flight is booked for 4 days after the date we thought it would be, we have decided to spend time with his mum before she goes away. So DH is getting a lift with MT to brize then we are driving down and DH's mum will get him from Brize.

On the morning of the flight we are going to get DH checked in, have a coffee and hugs and kisses and then he/we can get the kids back in the car and then get going.

DH has started to pack his bag, I spent an afternoon sewing on badges, doing washing and ironing, he admitted today that he just wants to get going now and I kind of feel the same way, that way we can start the count down. I have made a chart making a note of everything that was have coming up.

Good that you feel that way about the tour. The first few weeks are wierd but you'll soon get into a routine. DD1 is getting more settled every day, occasional wobble and a few tears about Daddy being gone but she's handling it tremendously well.
Probably best plan you have there, get in the car and get going as soon as you feel the time is right.
I was exactly same as you! washing, ironing, sewing etc etc! what would they do without us eh?
I'm now his new phone-based order service for anything he forgot to take and fancies having sent out! Smile
Boxed and envelopes galore!
Let me know how the dreaded day goes... You'll be fine Wink
