Has anyone moved with 'Agility'?

How did you find the service?

We move in about 6 weeks!

Surely, if they are obviously doing this, someone should complain.

We had no problem with movers or Agility we moved at Christmas, ground deep with snow.

I believe that the rumour mill is starting as people do not like change!
Our assessor over estimated on every room and as such a 3 day pack and move only took 2 days!

we moved witrh agility in feb and found it just the same as when we moved the year before with M&S. We had the same assessor and removal company (assessor worked for britannia) both times (once with M&S, once with agility), in fact he actually remembered us from the first move he did. We did have everything packed when the removals came on the day as we wanted them in and out asap so we could clean ready for move out the next day. I found the assessor over estimated though rather than under estimated.

As for the disturbance, you can apply via JPA upto 6 weeks before your move date but it gets paid in with the wage at the end of the month (not sure if they tax it now that it's paid with the wage). It is abit of a pain because if you miss the 15th of the month and have to wait till the end of the folowing month, you could have moved and had the expense out of your own pocket before you get the disturbance.

Overnight hotels i think are only allowed if moving over a certain number of miles but not sure as we slept on the floor in old house for one night ( we were moving from N yorks to Salisbury Plain). We were told that if we wanted to book a hotel we had to go through bookings but that we had to pay ourselves and claim back, same with food allowance unless you could get an advance of pay claim in soon enough.

That sounds fine then.

That's interesting re the hotel entitlement - anyone know for sure if there is a mileage limit?

Thanks!

hf there never used to be a mileage limit our friends stayed in a hotel when only moving 5 mins down the road. The only time we did stay in a hotel was when we were going overseas and we were in various ones for 6 weeks in total, yes you did have to pay then claim it back that meant we got audited for the claim as with 4 kids and 2 adults hotel and food came to a considerable amount (good job the plastic was very flexible) Grin

I can't really see how there can be a mileage limit as it takes a whole day to pack a house - and then a whole day to unpack it.

Do they expect you to sleep on the floor??
