Living in MQs - support through a marriage breakdown

My husband and I are having a lot of problems in our marriage which came to a head today. I contacted Navy welfare for advice and I'm seeing someone in their office later this week. However now I'm not sure who else to contact or if I've done the wrong thing asking Navy welfare. Would I be best to contact SSAFA or the NFF instead? I am just concerned Navy welfare are too closely connected to the actual Navy and I don't want to cause any issues for my partner. We're in MQs and I would just like advice on my rights, practical support and info on how to access any emotional support through all this. I'm many miles from family & friends and don't want to worry them.

Grateful for any advice.

Npfs are best from my point of view, they are confidential but can also access the navy divisional system if for example there was an alcohol issue or massive debt or DV with your spouse. They also have the ability to influence assignments and have access to safe house if required. I have only ever found them helpful and supportive both from a personal and professional perspective.

Thanks MrsSnaplegs. My husband is accusing me of attempting to ruin his career (by talking to welfare) so the confidentiality bit is good to hear.

I don't need to know the details to know he is emotionally blackmailing you there.

Summersea - are you ok? Were NPFS any use?
