lol. awww bless ya, need to take DS to get some for DP being away.

MrsSnaplegs · 05/04/2011 10:36

RAF welfare used to do a really nice kiddies pack with bits for them to colour and send and stickers and all sorts - not sure if it is still available but if you are of the light blue persuasion may be worth asking at the HIVE

NOmeansNO · 17/04/2011 19:12

Well i sent my first ebluey. It seemed to go ok. I got a wee report back saying it had been received at thart bfpo after about a day and a half. How long can it take for him to physically receive it once there?

:o ooh I might just have to sign up to the eblueys if they're that quick?

DHisaway · 17/04/2011 19:36

I usually ebluey at the end of my day. He usually gets it sometime before our teatime the next day. I think they get delivered to his accommodation rather than his daytime location, so he gets it when he finishes work but I am not certain about that at all.

It will also depends where he is. Ask him in your ebluey tonight when he got yesterdays.

DHisaway · 17/04/2011 19:37

DTM, go for it. They are that quick. Smile

davidtennantsmistress · 17/04/2011 19:38

how about them sending back thou, where DP is they've only just set up the welfare internet - which is dial up apparently & keeps crashing - I assume everyone's doing the same? so far we're using the snail post but both of us are yet to recieve one. (plus he's out in the middle of sea so not sure if it would still be as quick?)

NOmeansNO · 17/04/2011 19:40

well, I dont think the trouble will be in the receiving, he mentionned he wasn't sure how easy it would be to get the pc access to reply.

how does it work when they come back to camp(is that the right term)

do they need to get pc access while everyone else is trying to get it to write back too?

Oh, I don't know DTM and NmN.

DH is in a place with good comms facilities so it isn't a problem for him. Some have managed to Skype even. We haven't though.

NOmeansNO · 17/04/2011 19:52

dhisaway - nah, nothing like that i think is gonna be on the cards. He was telling me last time he was there he had the odd guard duty where there would be him, couple of other guys and a fancy radio, and thats pretty much it for days in the middle of nowhere. but i dunno, he is in a different area this time. might get a reply soon enough.

sorry im in a similar position to dhisaway (wondering if they're in the same place!) so hes just been emailing back.

hope you hear back soon no

davidtennantsmistress · 17/04/2011 20:08

nmn XH was the same pretty much constant on the MSN (pre FB days lol) and or email.

DP has been in touch tonight (bless him the phone bill will be huge!) he confirmed kiwi would need the net to send one back so it maybe a while before he gets yours/you get one back depending on his access.

We're so far managing on welfare minutes of half hour & DP's phone. he has wifi when they pull alongside which isn't often, however fingers crossed that will all change soon so we may well have some improved comms. YAY!
