Hi,

Thought you might like to know how much your men (and women!) are appreciated, by reading some of the messages of thanks to the RAF (past and present) on our new site: www.rafbf.org/thanks

The site's been set up by the charity RAF Benevolent Fund where I work. Hope you don't mind me posting it on here but thought you might like to have a read through as some of them are amazing, including messages from Stephen Fry and Lorraine Kelly.

Thanks everyone, hope you're all having a good week!

Yvonne (RAFBF)

I have posted this link on my FB, My father and mother served, my brother still does.

Yvonnems · 15/07/2010 15:42

Thanks Shoshe! It would be great if as many people in the RAF as possible get to see these messages so they realise how much they are valued and appreciated.

We're going to be presenting the messages to some of the remaining Battle of Britain veterans and a few current serving RAF in mid-September so we'll still be collecting messages until then - feel free to add your own message too if you like (chance to win a private air to air spitfire display if you do!)

I love Spitfires. And the Lancs too, they are my favourite planes. Far better than those noisy things they have now

WingDad · 22/07/2010 14:06

This link is brilliant, I'll be sure to pass it on to some of the lads! Sure they'll like it too

Yvonnems · 28/07/2010 17:20

Thanks Wingdad.

Saltire - if you like spitfires and Lancasters, something else we're doing that you might be interested in is: www.1940Chronicle.com

It's a 1940s style newspaper with daily updates about the Battle of Britain, and live blogging, Facebooking and Tweeting from five characters living through the Battle.

Seems to be getting a little steamy at the mo - our WAAF Jane's last tweet was: "In a dream today after a wonderful night with @1940George" Ooh er!

Will stop this shameless plugging of our work now!
