I don't have an occasion for brownies for a bit, so go right ahead! tbh, after all the recent comments on here, I want to try the Orlando Murrin ones next.

such hard decisions

lol. me too. have to make chutney, picallili, roast tomato sauce and then a curry. won't get round to the brownies for at least a week at this rate. Need to go and start a picallili recipe thread as can't find one.

taffetacat · 13/09/2010 19:35

you sound like you have a veg glut, 120. I made Gordon Ramsay's tomato chutney a few weeks ago. Oh its good. Don't have a picallili recipe I'm afraid.

120 · 13/09/2010 21:26

Yes I do taffeta, more to do with me getting over excited at the veg stall than having a garden or allotment thought. I have a date and tamarind chutney recipe that I'm currently in love with, but have always wanted to make my own picallili!

me too, have still not had a chance to make half of the fab recipes on here. more time please!

TwentiethCenturyHell · 26/10/2010 07:51

Fell off this thread, but glad to find it again!

Seriouslyblondemoment - glad you liked the Rolo brownies. I normally cook them for about 5 minutes less too, I like them a bit gooey. I've experimented with various alternatives in place of Rolos and most things work. Mini Mars Bars were quite good!

Just found this and decided to bump in case there are some new brownie recipes out there for us all to try!

SilverSixpence · 23/07/2012 15:46

ben and jerry's brownie recipe is great, from their ice-cream book, someone's blogged the recipe here

painterly · 26/07/2012 21:24

ooh sounds good! thanks.. will try

Taffletics · 29/07/2012 18:14

Ah this thread! Smile

My old friend.

I have tried a few in the last 2 years since posting on this thread, and can report that Nige's are still the best.

cupidsabsolutepsyche · 01/08/2012 20:58

I found this thread last night...been thinking about making some brownies lately so was good timing.

No idea if 120 is still around but YOUR BROWNIES ARE DELICIOUS!! thank you Grin

nappyaddict · 04/08/2012 09:47

You all need to try these I use Green & Black's Fairtrade Organic Cocoa Powder which is on offer in Asda at the moment for £1.57 :)

nappyaddict · 04/08/2012 10:03

I don't think Hershey's is fairtrade so I don't use that one, but Cadbury's Bournville Cocoa is fairtrade if you want something cheaper than G&B.

painterly · 06/08/2012 13:36

Thanks Cupid, tis 120 here. I like to keep on top of the Brownie game Wink. I made mine last week and was then wondering what new snaffly brownies the mumsnetters had discovered. Pleased to know mine still cut it Grin!

Just had a new baby this week so plenty of time... May the brownie-ing recommence...

painterly · 06/08/2012 13:37

Did we ever crack the Blondie btw?

cupidsabsolutepsyche · 09/08/2012 20:45

ooh lovely snuffly new baby, congratulations painterly!

your recipe went down so well that i'm using it for DD's birthday cake next week, hoping it will cook well in a round tin, i see no reason why it shouldn't..

and the fact that i could knock it together in 10 minutes meant i was able to satisfy the brownie urge at 11pm on the night i discovered it!

i made the hummingbird blondies a while ago when DD was a baby - i don't remember much about them but they did taste good. slightly dry though i think and no idea if i did something wrong or if that is just how they're meant to be...

ScariestFairyByFar · 23/08/2012 13:30

Cadbury's cookbook ones are amazing

painterly · 10/09/2012 09:25

Thanks cupid! hope the cake worked! Scariest, will take a look as I have that book.. thanks for the tip.
