Non-acidic meal suggestions please!

My DP seems to constantly get mouth ulcers, and when he does acidic and/or spicy foods seem to really hurt him.

I'm trying to lose weight after DS so most of our food seems to be tomato/passata based at the moment which he finds painful. Tbh, I hadn't really realised how much it'd been affecting him as he complains about so many other things as well that I try to drown all complaints out but tonight I decided to make more effort so cooked a cauliflower/pasta cheese thing. It was delicious (butter, cheese etc...what's not to like! ) and DP said it made so much difference - he actually managed to eat without wincing at every mouthful!

So I want to try to cook other meals that he'll be able to eat with ease, but obviously constantly eating foods based around cheese sauce is not going to do my waistline any favours!! So ideas please? Luckily its not all the time, but his ulcers tend to take a good few weeks to go & he's currently got 3 all lined up inside his mouth

Also have DD (3) to feed and DS, but he's only just starting eating solids so not the end of the world if he can't eat all the ideas as he tends to fall asleep before dinnertime anyway! We're a pretty un-fussy lot in general so hopefully they'll be lots of suggestions we like thanks!

No recipes come to mind, but wouldn't it be a good thing to sort out why your Dp gets the ulcers? Try building uphis immune system so that he doesn't get them then you can feed him anything

Thanks. He's been to the doctors 7 times about his ulcers so far!! But when he went yesterday they gave him some tablets to control acid reflux (?) to try for a month as think that may be thinning his mouth lining...his ulcers are apparently viral rather than usual bacteria type & he has low immune system from having glandular fever in past so may be difficult to sort
what type of things could we do to build up his immune system?

will keep trying tho & in meantime cooked quesadillas today & i'm going to do meatballs cooked in stock with cream added at end for dinner tomorrow, which my mum assures me will taste just as nice as the tomato based sauce I usually cook!!

When I had really bad heartburn during pg what we did (as ds doesn't like cream-based sauces was to cook all the other bits of the sauce and have some hot cream and tomato sauce on the side. That way ds could have whatever-it-was with tomato, I would have it with cream and dh usually with both!

Non-pasta things we ate regularly included:

Rice with stir fried vegetables and tofu/chicken/beef (usually japanese style, often including egg)
Burritos
Fajitas
Risottos
Fish and veg with potatoes/puree
Tortilla
Quiches/pies

Many chinese dishes are not acid or spicy as well

Apart from the last 2, the others are fairly compatible with sensible weight loss.

Well the immune boosting stuff I've taken(I have ME)are high dose vit C, garlic caplsules or tablets, zink and Echinacea. Worth a try.
