After having my second baby I am now starting to think about sorting out my diet a bit more with a view to slowly losing the baby weight. I am breastfeeding. With my first baby I found that it was important to make sure I kept up my protein intake both before and when I was starting to try to lose the weight.
Last time I seem to recall the main source of protein I relied on for lunchtime when I was losing weight was tins of tuna as an alternative to cheese sandwiches or boiled eggs. In the evening my husband and I usually eat a large portion of veg with something like lamb chops or salmon or grilled chicken etc. I am not too fussy about eating low fat meat in the evening and it didnt seem to stop me losing weight last time.
In relation to lunchtime foods what other foods could I each to ensure there is protein but not high fat and not expensive?

Beans. Or lentils.

You could do a nice salad-y thing with a tin of mixed beans.

A mix of puy lentils, wild rice and green beans with a garlicky dressing is good too.

Turkey esp the mince I bulk buy and cook making fajitas, cannelloni, burrito's and freeze into portions [I make smaller portions for lunch] add loads of veg or salad.
I also make blt's but with brown bread and more veg then meat.
Paella you can buy some nice ready made ones now as well
How old is your 1 dc? would the above food do for them as well
