I need to get my toddler some (unbreakable) plates/bowls & I thought I'd get some that were BPA-free, but the only ones I've found so far are melamine - do you know if there's anything else available?

don*t know, but we use normal stoneware cereal bowls. pretty sturdy and cheap to replace.

We use regular china too. If you think breakages are likely, you could get some plates and bowls from a charity shop.

What's wrong with melamine? I'm 59 we had them as DCs and my DCs too they're great. It's only pthalates you have to be careful of.

Just stumbled across this thread. I too am looking for some BPA free toddler plates / bowls. We had been using ceramic ones until DS smashed one last night and cut his wrist on it . Are the Ikea plastic plates really BPA free? If so, that looks like an easy solution...
