Go to fruit farm, pick fruit. Go to Tesco buy double cream and jar of Tesco Finest Jam Conserve. Go home and eat fruit with cream. Trust me, you will thank me.

what ever you do DO NOT BURN the jam. I am on my second day of boiling the pan to within an inch of its life to try to recover it.

However 14oz sugar /1lb strawberry

heat strawberris in pan on gentle heat, crushing with wooden spoon. Add juice of 1/2 lemon /lb strawberry. stir up to boil. Add sugar. boil for aprrox 20mins. Allow to cool slightly and stir vigoruously before potting. Remember to heat your glass jars.

There is a way to make jam in microwave. But i big batch make so cant use so havent googled.

Do you have a freezer? If so, don't wste your time boiling jam. Instead make a no-cook freezer jam.

They are really delicious and taste mush more like the original fruit. The raspberry one is my favourite

Strawberry freezer jam

Raspberry freezer jam

Certo is a natural product derived from apples. I buy mine at Waitrose but most big supermarkets stock it I think

I will second freezer jam. it is lovely. but does require a freezer larger then mine. tis very nice and easy.

easiest strawberry jam, also works for raspberries and other soft, berry type things like blueberries/loganberries/brambles etc.

2lbs strawberries
1 bag jam sugar
blob of butter

Blitz the strawberries in the blender so that you have a puree, Put them into a big, deep pan and add the sugar. Stir over a gentle heat until the sugar is completely melted. Add the butter. Turn up the heat and keep stirring until the jam comes to a full boil. Boil for 3 minutes and pour immediately into hot, sterile jars. Put on lids and leave until completely cold. The lids will seal as the jam cools.

This will make 3 or 4 1lb jars of jam.

I bet you'll prefer the taste of the freezer jam (not to mention preferring the ease of making it).

Good luck and let us know the outcome.
