Calling all professionals...if you are left handed - should you buy a left handed knife for cutting?

I love cooking and want to invest in a really good knife so I can start chopping/slicing properly..however, I am left handed and I'm sure it blunts the knives that I use more rapidly than it should

What do you think or should it not make a difference...

I'm left handed and love to cook but don't really hold with special equipment of any sort really.

I don't use anything special but have considered a left handed bread knife. Its why apparently, all my slices are pissed and I can't cut them straight if I tried

Hmm, that's interesting as I have never cut a straight slice in my life....

I am left handed and can cut bread with a 'normal' knife. I like a left handed potato peeler, though.

Ohhh thanks . My DH will miss his doorstep sandwiches!
