Recommendations for baby food recipe book?

Psammead · 02/05/2010 13:00

Our DD is coming up to 4 months and we are just starting to think about introducing solids within the next month or so.

Can anyone recommend a good recipe book for baby food? I'm thinking along the lines of affordable and commonly available ingredients, easiness of preparation and potential for freezing.

Thanks!

I second Annabel Karmel's book - so many yummy ideas!

i also recommend annabell karmell...
she has a few and they are all pretty fab

id go for the completet baby meal planner (or words to that effect) and / or baby and toddler cook book

(I cook many meal in baby and toddler cook book for myself and adults!)

If you wait for 6 months, you can go straight to mashed up 'real' food that you (and your dh) are eating. No faff, better for your baby. But personally I hated all Annabel Karmel, and tried out a selection from the library. By the time I'd had a go at all types of book, dc was eating normal food! Job done.

I would get the Gill Rapley book - Baby Led Weaning.

Not recipes but a revelation!

you have to try the 'truuuly scrmumptious book of baby purees' - all the recipes are so well balanced that they taste amazing, and some of the later stage recipes like fish pie and cheese straws are perfect for adults & older kids too - my toddler still eats loads of the recipes (non-pureed) at 19 months. don't make their non-salt stocks - they sell baby stock cubes at boots/waitrose now, or you can just use hot water and they still taste delicious

I used Lorraine Kelly's Baby and Toddler Eating Plan

It was brilliant for me as I knew nothing about weaning and needed some guidance.

I'd second the Gill Rapley book. It will make the others seem like a complete faff and waste of time.
