I am having a bit of a problem trying to find a poffertje pan (preferably a non stick one that works on a griddle).
Have tried ebay, Amazon but they do not sell them in UK.
Please could you advise where I can get one?

Thank you.

I found baking kit here with some unneccessary ingredients. Or the Bijenkorf might send to UK ?

GentleOtter · 26/04/2010 20:36

Thank you as that is just what I was looking for! We had some poffertjes at the weekend and they were wonderful.
Have sent off for the poffertjespan.

quick hyjack, I have a bad Applestroop addiction and beg any friends returning from holland to keep me supplied.
Does anyone know where I can get some in the UK?

C4ro · 26/04/2010 21:25

How brave are you to make your own...
Recipe here (no idea if any good)

Or Search Appelstroop and ship it to yourself on demand.

Oh, I forgot all about Appelstroop!

The link is so good. Can I now what the lacy cotton half curtains are called in Dutch? They are like a cafe curtain but often have scenes on them and only cover a little bit of the window. picture here I love them.

Wow, might just have a go at making my own Applestroop.

I love the Russian Roulette of a plate with half marmite, half Applestroop on toast, they look identical.

GO - I think it's called a 'valletje' vah-luh-tje

Hi, I know OP no longer needs it but for other people there are a couple of website selling dutch food products including poffertjes pannen, one I've used is holland-at-home.nl and the other is dutchtaste.com. Don't know how much they are on these sites though but you might find some other products that interest you....

We made some last week. DH's colleague is dutch and gave him a spare one she had.

I didn't think the poffertjes themselves had a lot of taste but they were ok once covered in butter and poedersuiker.

Is there anything we can put in the mix to jazz them up a bit?

Ooh - marking place on this thread. I have a yet-to-be-used poffertjes pan which hairtwiddler sent me - I've never eaten one so have no idea what they should be like. What's the consensus - yeast or no yeast?

GentleOtter · 27/04/2010 21:51

The Continental market was in Perth on Sunday and there was a stall from Friesland selling poffertjes.
The toppings were jam, Baileys Cream, syrup, honey, maple syrup, butter and icing sugar, lemon,
They are like tiny flying saucer shaped fluffy pancakes, Habbibu. Heavenly.

You do know that I will put on at least 2 stone once my poffertje pan arrives.

Ooh - wonder if it'll be in Dundee next? Probably missed it. Bah.
